About Eloise
Eloise Shepherd - Taylor's dedication to the world of classical ballet has taken her on an extraordinary journey. Having achieved what she wanted at a young age, now 25, she resides in Central London. Recognised predominantly as a professional ballet dancer, she is also an agency-represented model, fitness instructor, ballet coach and full-time BSc (Hons) Dietetics Student.
Eloise honed her craft from the age of 11, training at esteemed ballet institutions, including The Royal Ballet, Young Dancers Academy and Central School of Ballet. To achieve the world-class standards of classical ballet training, Eloise had to move away from home and adapt to a rigorous regime, working up to ten hours a day, six days a week. However, her hard work paid off when she was awarded a professional contract with the Joffrey Ballet, Chicago and a bachelor's degree following her graduation at age 18. She later guested with Ballet West as a soloist before returning to the UK with Northern Ballet. Eloise was due to join The English National Ballet, London, in 2021; however, after much thought, she decided to leave company life behind her to pursue new endeavours.
Eloise has always diversified her learning by attending international summer schools with scholarship funding; these included Paris Opera Ballet, The Royal Ballet, Prague International Master Classes and English National Ballet.
Some of her accolades include first place in the International Cecchetti Competition for young dancers, performing as Alice in Alice in Wonderland at Buckingham Palace, and working with Anthony Dowson in the role of Baby Driver that premiered at Sadler's Wells. Her career highlight was performing in the Spring Waters pas de deux for the Royal Opera House Gala, London.
Eloise has continued her appetite for knowledge and embraced an academic path by studying for a second degree. Drawing on her wealth of experience in elite sports, she intends to offer a unique and valuable perspective by assisting dancers with their mental and physical health. Ultimately her goal is to pursue a career as a leading medical practitioner in the professional sports industry.
TEACHING APPROACH
As a coach, I am invigorated by witnessing the metamorphosis that unfolds among my clients during our sessions. At the onset of class, they may harbour apprehensions and uncertainties about their capabilities, but as we progress, a mesmerising transformation occurs. They tap into a hidden reservoir of resilience and fortitude, pushing their physical and mental limits to new heights and leaving the class feeling empowered, self-assured, and revitalised.
Teaching is more than a profession to me; it's a calling. It presents an opportunity to foster deeper connections with individuals, to spur and motivate them to reach their full potential, and to cultivate a sense of community and solidarity.
Whether engaging in laughter, conversation or harmoniously executing movements, there is a palpable energy in the room that invigorates and uplifts.
So, if you're considering taking a class, do not hesitate. Embrace the opportunity to explore the inner strength within you. I assure you, you will not regret it. I eagerly anticipate seeing you on the mat or in the studio.
